Together in Harmony
For this project, I went around Pittsburgh with a camera, a microphone, and a dog trying to get strangers to sing for me. It was rather difficult at first to ask people I didn’t know or relate to to put themselves in such a vulnerable position, but once I assured them that their vocal skills or appearance did not matter, I had many people eagerly contribute. The project was another new ground for me, as I strongly dislike approaching people on the street, but I wanted to form a collective song using people of all ages, races, and identity who did not know each other. The result was a slightly offbeat and out of tune barbershop quartet full of smiling faces.
