“This is my spot” by Lanna Lang

I wanted this project to convey the idea of subtlety and the vague interpretation of narrative. This image conveys that of the body as a means of transportation or possibly as a means of intervention or civil disobedience. Someone laying in a parking spot could express multiple different narratives. Are they portraying that a human body is one mode of transportation - like the car - using the parking spot to rest? Or they could possibly be doing this as an act of civil disobedience, similar to tree-sitting, against cars or against whoever that parking spot is reserved for. Another explanation could be that this person is helping a companion reserve the best parking spot available, and preventing other cars to take that spot. The idea of ambiguity is prevalent in most artworks, and you could say that art is meant to be interpreted in any way the viewer sees fit.
