A senior design student of New York CIty’s Parson’s University, Angela Luna, created a fashion line with Syrian refugees in mind. The clothes address change in a very clever way; they act not only as wearable items, but shelters that one can build for the night ahead. She’s also created normal everyday clothing items/accessories such as coats and pants that can turn into flotation devices or backpacks. She’s dressed the issue of refugee’s ability to survive on the run, and posed some solutions to difficult issues such as shelter and safety precautions. This piece, though it is not in the creator’s opinion art – is in my opinion a work of art which really helps to address an issue head-on and make a plausible difference.
