a sense of home assignment response

Before CMU, I lived with my parents in a decent house placed in the middle of a quiet neighborhood and the pretty natural scenery. Coming back to this house and somewhat re-connecting with my parents, I vividly remember my childhood through these stuffed animals and toys and how much my parents worked hard to achieve "the American dream" and make us happy. Here, the stuffed animals (my childhood, parts of myself) are honoring and preserving these sacred vessels that are mundane objects (a watch, a rosary case, a make-up compact). These objects represent my parents and their faith in achieving happiness. Their hard work allowed me to have the joys in my childhood. In these uncertain times, this particular piece expresses my desire to honor them and care for them.
